New on this forum here.

I just upgraded my "early 2015" (bought in 2017) MBA from Mojave to Monterey. Clean install, no problem.

Now I also want to get a bigger SSD for more space with Bootcamp. Since the main work for our non-profit will be done on a new Intel desktop, a 500 GB SSD would definitely be enough, and seeing how I managed with 128 GB over the last four years, a 250 GB would be acceptable as well.

In a hurry, I just bought the M.2 NGFF NVMe SSD Adapter Card for upgrade SSD for Macbook Air 2013 - 2017 Macbook Pro Late 2013 - 2015 iMac 2013 - 2017 (ST-NGFF2013C). This was the only adapter still available and already down to the last 3 pieces. The last set with the nice screwdrivers sold out while I was filling the purchase details, so I quickly switched to this set and pulled the trigger before it would be out of stock as well.

It did not click to me earlier but is this the so-called "long adapter"?

I saw some youtubes with only the actual adapter section (presumably the short adapter), but I could not find it here anywhere close (both in location and in delivery time).

This adapter card mentions a basic list of compatible M2 NVMe SSDs, but it looks to me that this is an older list of SSDs, with several options no longer available or never sold here in the Czech Republic.

Does anybody has an updated list of M2 SSDs that fit or can I just put in the regular top brands as long as they are only one-sided?

I wouldn't use that long adapter in the 2015 MBA. I did at first but I discovered that it made the bottom cover press hard on the SSD. It did work, but would most definitely lead to hardware issues. I immediately got the short Sintech adapter for the ADATA SSD in my sig and no issues. That's going on 6-7 years now. I ended up using the long adapter in the 2015 MBP I got a while back so at least it didn't go to waste.

I read that also but also several posts it works ok as long as you use single-sided blades.

Thanks for the remarks; I will continue this discussion in main long thread on upgrading with adapters and nVME SSDs.
