Ok I have read about 500 posts and could not find an answer. Is it possible to install parallels 6 on the MBA by sharing a DVD drive from a networked Windows machine, then install Win7 from an ISO saved to the MBA desktop on to the VM?

Also read that someone used an XBOX360 HD-DVD drive in place of the SuperDrive. Has anyone confirmed this?

I'm not completely following what you are trying to do but it should work. You can purchase Parallels and just download it to your MBA as opposed to installing via a DVD, but a remote DVD install should work...

I've created a Windows 7 VM from a DVD ISO, works without an issue.

Yes. I did this and it worked like a charm. Granted, i used my iMac, but that shouldn't make a difference. The Remote Disc feature which I used to install Parallels 6 also works on PCs, as I understand it.
