I'm trying to figure out if I'm in need of an "upgrade" to a MacBook Pro.

I keep getting out of memory errors on my maxed out 13" MacBook Air. The errors only happen when accessing iPhoto library, which is installed on a Segate 1tb 3.0 usb hard drive.

I know that moving the library back to internal storage would eliminate the problem, but I don't have the space.
Anyone have any recommendations for using my iPhoto library more effectively to eliminate this problem? Thanks
