Hi Everyone,

I believe this may be a unique/odd problem.

This morning my MBA had a completely black screen. I pressed the power button no luck. I tried all the restart suggestions online, and I finally got to start up.

Now, I can see the background picture, BUT the cursor is frozen, and after a minute the fans kicks on at full blast. I hit the power button and it won't turn off. It's completely unresponsive. I tried some of the restart suggestions posted online, but nothing is working.

Any suggestions? Please help! I'm hoping the folks on here know a trick or restart option that I haven't yet tried.

THANKS :)

This morning I tried this: "Reset PRAM. (After pressing the power button, hold down these keys simultaneously: Command-Option-P-R until you hear the startup chime at least one additional time after the initial startup chime.)"

Also, I tried resetting the SMC.

I think one these helped me start the MBA.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I may end up taking it to the genius bar, but just trying to avoid the trip....
