MBA is not recognizing USB Scan Device

I'm trying to connect a Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 scanner and my MBA 2018 will not recognize the device.

I have changed the USB to USBC adapter, and changed ports on the MBA. I have also switched out the Usb cord to the scanner.

The scanner is not showing up as being connected to the laptop either. I have used this scanner previously and it was connected to my 2016 MB Pro without issues, with the same cables and adapter.

I have another single sheet feed Fujitsu Scanner and it connects just fine.

I restarted my MBA and still nothing is working.

Is this an adapter issue? I've tried three different USB adapters that all work with other devices.

Do you have to download a new Fujitsu driver?

I did download all new drivers. However the driver issue wouldn’t affect that my machine won’t recognize the scanner altogether would it?
