the MBA m1 ships with a 20w power adapter , although it seems it can charge faster than that,up to 45w or sth (given the mbp M1 does have a faster charger )

has any of you tried that?

does it truly speed your charging up?

is there any risk at doing this ?

I'm pretty certain it would charge faster, although I never tried it.

And if you are using a good "standard-compliant" charger, there is no risk. (Modern USB chargers don't just send a fixed amount of power. When you plug in the device it actually start charging at a low standard charging speed instantly (5W I believe), then the charger and the device communicate which charging mode they support, and they activate the fastest one that they both support.)
