MBA mid 2009 run slowly

Hello everyone,
I have MBA mid 2009 Intel C2D 1.86 GHz with 2GB ram and GeForce 9400M 256mb.
Im on 10.8.2 and my mac run slowly. Before I upgraded to ML the mac run fast and know i d'ont know what to do. Maybe If I'll upgrade to mavericks the performance will be better? Or maybe I need to downgrade to 10.5 / 10.6 / 10.7?

What do you recommend me to do?

The upgrade to Mavericks is free, so I'd try that first.

I upgraded to Mavericks but the mac still run slowly.
The MBA came originally with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard.
There is any chance the I can downgrade to Leopard? or maybe to 10.6?

I'm new to the mac world so sorry for my newbie question \=
