My daughter called me from college saying her 2022 MBA did not charge past 50% while she was sleeping. I got her to check a few different outlets, got her to restart it and check the connection to computer. Nothing worked but she called me latter saying she had too many tabs opened and when she closed them it started charging again.

Does this make any sense or could it have been another issue

Thanks in advance

The tabs must have kept the CPU active, causing higher power consumption. Heavy background load can raise temps, and the OS sometimes limits the charging to manage heat better.
