I got my first Mac about a year ago - a brand new Intel MBA - and read it was OK to leave it plugged in. I've just installed Coconut and it's saying health is already down to 86%. Is this normal degradation for a mac battery of that age, or is it because it's (nearly always) always plugged in?
Thanks for any info...

I got my MacBook Air (intel MBA) back in 2015 with rather new battery etc. Plugged in for 3 years, used off-charging for 3 years, now down to 79%. Unless your Intel MBA is relatively old, that percentage doesn’t look great.

Unfortunately, Apple will not “advise” you to replace the battery if you contact them. Instead, they will just say “This is normal”, and they won’t really offer battery replacement unless you insist I think.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I never made it clear that it was a new machine (edited orig post now).

Well that doesn't sound right then, does it? Yours, 6yrs old, mine 13mths old, and only 7% difference! 🥴
