MBA Strange Ambient Sensor Changes

I purchased a MBA and there intermittently the screen goes to a nasty yellow hue. I took it to Apple and they could not recreate the problem. They want to keep it 24 hours for diagnostics! I just purchased this machine - Is there not a 14 exchange policy?

Yes it was from an Apple store...

Yes, if you insist you can return it and then exchange it for another. My guess is that they would rather first try to see if it's a hardware issue, since if they take it back it becomes an open box or refurb model.

Perhaps they just want to be sure it isn't just Bette Davis eyes that notice the yellow.
