For a while there has been some dispute over the power supplied by the MBA USB port. As I suspected, given that the port fully powers a DVD drive, it does indeed power my LaCie 120 GB USB drive without any auxiliary power. On my 15" PowerBook G4 (fall 2004) I needed to use a powered hub. In general the MBA is a very nice machine.
