Hello - there are many many threads about the difference in performance in these machines. I wanted to know if anyone has a view on what's the more physically comfortable experience.

The weight is actually pretty similar but the designs are both different.

- does the tapered design make the MBA more comfortable to use on your lap?
- does the tapered design make the MBA more comfy to type on in general or is the same?

Do you notice a big diff when carrying? I'd image this would be similar actually because this just comes down to weight.

Thanks!

I think the design of the Air would be more comfortable. I've had mine for a week but its going back as I decided to get a 16". The Air is extremely comfortable on my lap. Its my first Air I've owned and the wedge design is one of my favorite features of the laptop. I can't comment about weight. The edge of the mac laptops has always bothered me, the wedge design is a small thing but makes a big difference imo.

Great! Thanks so much! I also thought the wedge will make a diff. I will update my thoughts when I get it.

I MUCH prefer the tapered design of the MBA, it's far more comfortable to type on. Even if you have smaller hands and your wrist sit fully on the palmrests of the MBP, it's just a lot more comfortable typing on the Air with it's taper design. I would gladly have picked up an Air over the new MBP, Quad Core, new Keyboard, Iris Graphics, sign me up. Unfortunately it naturally only supports Catalina and I need 32bit support so, oh well.

thanks for that, makes me feel better about my choice. I have an air coming early next week and replacing a late 2013 MBP. My first air. Looking forward to it.

np, you won't be disappointed. Plus the Air has better battery life, and for long typing sessions that tapered design is a heck of a lot more comfortable. Enjoy!
