HELP---I connected a Samsung external optical drive to the
MBA to archive some stuff. I tried to copy a large folder of pix and the rainbow wheel never stop so I interrupted the process. Now when I try to start up I get the message the HD is full and I need to delete files. When I acknowledge the message the screen goes to grey and then nothing----any ideas. Thanks much.

Stop breaking it! Kidding.

Grey screen usually means it is recovering from something. Plug it in, if you can plug it into the internet as well to make it easier for it to fix any broken files. Just sit back and relax. Give it an hour to fix whatever broke.

When you interrupted the process, does that mean held down the power button until it shut down?

Based on the amount of data you believe is on the drive, do you think it could be full? If not, it sounds like perhaps a drive failure.

Try a command-r boot to recovery and from there use Disk Utility to run a repair disk. What does that show?
