Hello,

I know about countless threads about SSD upgrade for Apple laptops, just wondering if in the last few months anything changed; my 2015 MBA 13" had the 256GB option and mere 4GB RAM, always running short on storage (use it fo temporarily store and edit photographs), I know it is not worth an upgrade as sooner or later I will anyways have to get a new laptop but if I could upgrade to 512GB (and put my 256 into my son's same MBA as mine to upgrade from his 128) it won't be bad.

Is the Syntech adapter + M.2 NMVE still the solution? Any other adapter than the Syntech as here in Italy it is not easy to get?

Grazie

I've only used the Syntech. Like Audit13 said, make sure you use a small one. The long one will work, but the case bottom presses hard on it, and will eventually cause a failure or short it out.

Hello everybody,

thank you for your replies, just two questions:

is there any issue with computer sleep vs adapters?

may I see what short vs long looks like so I am sure I won't make any mistake by choosing only based onto description

Grazie

There should be no problem with sleep since you have a 2015 Air.

I was about to go for a 500GB + the adapter when I read that such solution won't allow for internet recovery (if that's how it is called the procedure command + R on startup to install the OS), is that correct?
