Got a broken screen MBAir A1932, got a USB-C to HDMI adapter but if I connect the external display it doesn't activate as I suppose it takes to go into system preferences to make this possible, wondering if there is anything to try to startup directly on an external display.

Grazie

You've maybe sorted it out, but I had this same issue this week, and the only way I could get the primary screen showing on my USB-C monitor was to disconnect the display cable from the logic board.

Oh, that's a good suggestion, I don't have the computer handy now but in the meantime I will lookup for the instructions on how to disconnect the cable and give it a try, it could give the laptop new life.

Grazie

I followed the ifixit screen swap instructions as I was doing that later in the week anyway, but it's quite easy as long as you've got a decent screwdriver set.

I lifted the display connector off the motherboard, attached a usb-c to HDMI adapter and then the cable to the screen but all I got is the fan of the MBAir to spin and no video signal, anything else I should attempt?

The computer boots but doesn't complete the process, I get the progress bar stuck at the end and the fan spinning, any clue how to fix it?

I tried to hit command + R to go into Recover mode but no way, also the combo of command+alt+P+R didn't sort any effect :-(
