If the full six-member commission upholds Gildea's decision, the ITC could block imports of Macs that are not equipped with graphics processors made by Nvidia.

Nvidia-equipped Macs are immune to the patent challenge, Gildea said.

It's not likely to hold up, partly because the ITC ruled that the patents may be invalid. Also, this could affect anyone using Intel chipsets, which would be just about everyone right now.

Apple has other options, including returning to Nvidia graphics chips for its Macs.

I'm no law major but does this > Intel's thing that keeps Nvidia chips off sandy bridge processors?

If the requirement is specifically that they be equipped with nVidia - as opposed to a "non Intel" chip, doesn't that go way beyond the Air? To the extent of basically every type of Apple hardware these days?
