Found the 2012 13" MBP online for $1.012.54. Is this a good buy right now? Or should I wait until next week's announcement to see if a new MPB comes out? I'm not interested in the Retina display, but if the new 13" Retina means the non-Retina 13" lowers even more in price, then I'll wait.

Thanks for any advice!

I personally don't think that the old MBP 13's will drop if retinas come out.. Too soon since the update. Retinas would probably be about the 15 cMBP prices, leaving the old prices intact.

Thanks for the advice... I think I'll get it now.

I'll be using this with a 24" external monitor, what's the highest resolution I can get?

Sounds good. Now I just hope that the new Mini isn't awesomely updated. Otherwise I'll have buyer's remorse from buying the more expensive MBP.

Have you considered the refurbished store? They have the base 2012 13" for $1019 I believe. They are a great value, look and operate like new, and they come with a 1 year warranty and you can purchase AppleCare.

Well that may be a good deal, but considering that this is a brand new MBP for a lower price, I'll stick with the Amazon deal.
