Hi!

I have a Macbook Pro 1.83 GHz (first generation) with 2GB RAM. Is it normal that when opening a 1080p file (shot on 5D Mark II) in Quick Time or VLC, I get terrible performance (strong lag, skipped frames)? I get the same with most other 1080p video files. 720p is fine.

see you,
chris.

I've read that no matter what mbp vlc has problems playing 1080p for some people. Try using plex to watch it, i heard that helps.

1.83 Ghz is a bit on the low end when it comes to full HD.
I don't think you'll get flawless performance unless you get a new computer
