I use coolbook with my original 1.86 MBP but even so the case gets very hot even though I am running a very old strategy game only that only pushes CPU to 56C.

Would replacing the paste make a difference in case heat?

Thanks

I don't know what your definition of very hot is, but 56C is pretty hot to the touch. Note that your case it aluminum and conducts heat quite well.

Is it still in Warranty?

Have you tried using Enermax Aeolus
I've heard that the Enermax is very good.

Replacing the Thermal Paste, will I believe void your Warranty. However it's said to improve thermal dispersion, if the thermal paste was not, at first applied well.
Saying that it will result in the fans coming on more frequently.

I would personly, get a good cooler and a External keyboard + Mouse, either the Logitech G15 or the Logitech diNovo Keyboard Mac® Edition. With The Razer DeathAdder

EDIT:
It would probably increase Case heat, as more heat from CPU and GPU is being removed, because the Case behaves like a heatsink.

Wasn't Apple accepting out of warranty repairs for the thermal paste issue?

possibly, I'm not too sure on apple warranty when it comes to reapplying thermal paste. assuming "nph" is still in warranty.
