Hi,

MBP was working fine up to a few days ago, no issues at all. Working on it one day, plugged into magsafe power adapter/wall outlet and left it like that. Came back a few hours later and battery warning pop-up window was saying I was running on reserve battery and I needed to plug the computer in.

Nothing unusual in that, thought someone had unplugged it. Problem was that it was plugged in but no green or orange LED on magsafe cable connector. Checked battery info and it said 'Battery needs service' (or something along those lines). Shortly after this computer went to sleep and then shut off as it wouldn't connect to power and/or charge. Tried 4 other magsafe power adapters, same result, no LED, no nothing.

Up until today when pressing the button on the side of the MBP to test the battery 1 LED would flash a few times just as it normally does when the battery is very low. Now it's not flashing anymore which must mean the battery is completely spent.

Tried taking the back cover off and unplugging battery and plugging magsafe back in, wouldn't run like this or with battery plugged back in.

So up until the battery ran out of juice the computer was running fine, I'm thinking that for some unknown reason the magsafe connector inside the MBP is fried so won't transfer power into the computer or battery. This is a guess however as I am no expert but am comfortable tinkering with computers if need be.

I've read things about Logic boards going and since my computer was running fine up until the battery ran out I am crossing my fingers it's not this.

Any ideas/causes/solutions? Can't find any thread with these exact symptoms, lots similar but not exactly the same.

Thanks in advance for your feedback
