Hi guys,
I've done a search around the forums, but there seems to be no reported problems of what I am facing. I am facing problems with the available audio output out of my Samsung HD TV.
The device/adapter via which that I am connecting my MBP to my HD TV is this. With that, it is clear that I am using a HDMI cable to connect to the TV. My HDMI cable type is 'male', if I recall correctly. But the cable type should not be of any problems since I was facing 0 problems or whatsoever with the audio output ever since I bought this a couple of days ago. Only today, I decided to shift my MBP to another location, so that my mouse can receive better USB connectivity. Well, one problem gone (the better mouse connectivity), and another arises - there is no selected output available from my TV under 'Sound', 'System Preferences'.
Do note that I have also tried reverting my set-up to its previous location, but to no avail. This problem is causing me humongous distress (okay, I am exaggerating), but it is making the precious money I spent on the adapter go to waste. Therefore, I would kindly appreciate any help that comes along! Thanks in advance.
*edit: In the link, I found this: "Note: *Audio support is only available for MacBook Pro 13/15/17-in. mid-2010 release; iMac 21.5/27-in. early-2010 release". I bought this from a local IT fair, so the salesperson did not advice if my MBP version is suitable for such an adapter. However, I should stress again that everything was working fine a couple of days ago.
