I have found this 2012 i5 2.5 MBP selling for 790 dollars 2nd hand.
According to the guy it is in rally good shape (will check for myself) and he has everything that came with it. (Box, charger, manuals etc)

I don't live in the US so refurbished won't be an option.
A new MBP retina (Baesline model) is 1850 :/.

I have an ssd which i intend to install and i will be using it for revit at college..

I know i could get a much more powerful windows machine for the same kind of money, however i really like the reliability and user interface of osx.

Is it even possible to run and work with revit on this machine?

Also i know probably should something with a larger screen, but i already bought a 27 inch to hook up at home

Nothing wrong with it really. A mate of mine has that spec and he is selling his for 700-800 pounds.

If you are referring to USD, then it sounds like a decent deal. The 2012 model in really good shape will sell for that price and more.

If you mean USD, then yes, jump on that offer. Hopefully you are right about it being in good condition.

and with that SSD you plan on putting in, then i would say you have a pretty future proof machine to come.

Good luck with your purchase :)
