My Macbook Pro 13" 2015 is getting very hot and the fan very loud when i play 3D games.
Therefore i was wondering if there is a way/software to reduce the maximum speed of the Iris GPU or the CPU?

There are ways to disable the turbo boost, that’s about it. Your best bet is to turn down/off effects and aliasing, set at a lower resolution and if the game allows select maximum frame rates to keep it cooler and quieter.

It’s not a gaming machine and it has an intel integrated gpu running off system RAM, basically modern games will be too much for it and even much older games will need a lot of tweaking to run well if at all. It will always get hot and loud with this usage it’s a slim light small laptop it’s not designed for 3D gaming.

Im playing Civilization V on it and it runs fine with medium settings and a resolution of 1280x800. I just want the GPU to try a little less hard to get it maybe 10-15 degree lower, thats all.

Turn down the settings that’s all you can do.
