Hey guys my MBP 13" 2016 is in the midst of progress display death and I have to decide between a costly repair and waiting for new models in 2020 or just cutting my losses and going for the recently refreshed Intel MBP 13"?

Are we likely to see further revisions to the 13" this year? Is the current 13" generally considered good value?

The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13" have both been updated in the last few months. Either of these are fine, as long as you do not get the two-port MBP, which is not good value.

There is rumor of an ARM-based MacBook Pro 13.3" late this year or early next year based on predictions by Ming-Chi Kuo, but this is of course only a rumor. We should know if this is plausible or not in about 13 hours, after the WWDC keynote.

Hi,

No intention to hijack the thread, but genuine question: what would a change to ARM mean for the daily user? I know that ARM processors have a low energy consumption (mobile, Raspberry Pi), but it would probably require a lot of devs to rewrite their software, right? How else could this move be a game changer ?

I have a 13" MBP from 2016 too, and apart from having the battery changed a few months ago (and a persisting fan issue), it's going fine. But in case I suddenly have to change, I want to roughly understand what each choice entails.

Thanks.

Watch Apple's WWDC keynote later today and I'm sure they'll tell you!

At the OP I would watch today's keynote and assuming no new hardware is imminent I'd pick up the new 13" MBP. It's a solid piece of hardware new they've replaced the butterfly keyboard.
