Of course you should send it back. Without question. I don’t know what’s causing that noise, maybe a fan bearing or something but get it sorted with Apple. Don’t accept a repair. Get a refund and buy another is my opinion.

Thank you! my problem is also that I used a payoneer mastercard for the purchase but all of their credit cards are are now frozen/canceled (https://blog.payoneer.com/home-page...ate-regarding-wirecard-and-your-prepaid-card/ )

anyone have any idea what can i do in situation like this? could Apple send me a refund to another card or to my bank account due to this situation ? I know they usually can only automatically send refund to the same card that been used..

Sounds like a fan issue. Do you happen to have an Apple Store in the area? The Payoneer card is based in the UK and there are stores open there. If not call Apple and ask for an exhange. No need to worry about where to refund the purchase if you do an exchange. If you are outside the exchange window Apple can repair it. That should be a simple repair.

Good point yes. If you get an exchange that’s perfect. Certainly in the situation. Just do not accept a repair.

If OP is outside the return window a repair may be the only option. Apple may be a little more flexible than others, but I would not go into the conversation with the expectation of not accepting a repair.

He isn’t. His original post said he’s got one day left

After reading that Payoneer blog that you linked, it says that you can transfer incoming funds to another bank account.
So, you would have access to the funds, but you just can't use the card.

I think the incoming funds they refer to are funds into your payoneer account, I don't think they meant incoming funds to the card itself. sadly all the funds on the card itself are frozen at the moment..

Unless you’re not sure if you want to keep that same model and specs, there is no real need to process it as a refund. Apple will simply swap it out. They may technically make it a new sale, but use credit from the previous purchase so you don’t have to pay anything. They would even let you get a different model and pay the difference if it costs more.

But as others have said, this has to be done within two weeks normally, unless Apple is being more flexible due to COVID. You may be able to indicate that it needs to be exchanged and then bring it in after the two weeks return window has passed for instance.

That is clearly a faulty unit.
