Greetings,
I have encountered a minor problem with the audio passthrough of the minidisplay port on the mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13.3" as listed in the title. The error is that I noticed, the drivers for the nvidia geforce 320m that bootcamp supplies are version 261.41. Checking the nvidia site I noticed these are beyond dated. Also Medal of Honor Warfighter recommends updating to at least driver version 285.xx. But thats not important. What is important is that I've managed to track down drivers from version 320 (latest) to older 275.xx (older) and all of them seem to disable the audio passthrough of the minidisplay port. Using ANY other driver besides the 261.41 release packed with bootcamp 4, reads my minidisplay-to-hdmi cable as a DVI-HDMI cable and thus removes the ability to get audio on my TV. I have spent 6 hours researching and testing roughly 15 different drivers. Uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling, rebooting, get the picture, this has been very tedious and tiring. I have checked a substantial amount of drivers on the nvidia site and all seem to read my cable as a DVI-HDMI rather than minidisplay cable to hdmi. Only the Apple supplied driver reads it correctly. Has anyone else repeated this problem and has anyone else found a solution? Please help.
