I just put SMC 2.2.2 on my 13 in MBP. I have it on my Imac so I have an idea how it works. My default is 2000 rpms and my High fn is 4000 rpms. No matter what I put it on, it goes 2000 or so rpms. On my Imac if I put it on Higher rpm it does up to 4000. On the MBP 13 it just stays at 2000. Am I doing something wrong????

Fans On MBP13

Since nobody has any comments, is there a way I can check my fan to make sure it works properly. I do notice that when I click it to higher RPMS it does go up for a brief second or two and then drop back to the default speed. I just want to make sure it works when needed.

try adding a custom fan profile and see what happens. On my 13" I can set it to higher RPM and have it stay at around 4000 indefinitely.

SMC Fan Conrol

I did what you suggested and made it 3000 rpms. Nothing. I put a dvd in with Handbrake and as the temp rises, so does the fan. So the fan does work. I just can't set it to a minimum and have it stay there manually. Yea, as the temp got up to 60C the fan was moving on up there between 3500 and 4500. I dunno!!!
