I am quite happy with my MBP but are there any advanced settings to prevent it from becoming a jet engine when using google earth?

Thanks!

What do you mean by a jet engine? Do you mean noise?
Google Earth runs silently in my 2011 Core i5 MacBook Pro.

Fan noise, heating up, all due to massive GPU use.

Anyways, no, not really. I mean, it is kinda rendering the whole earth and all. lol. Not many better or easier ways for the computer to do it.

Thank you so far for your responses. It can be quite annoying for me and for my neighbourhood when the fans are running at 6000. But I knew that the gpu isn't a monster when I bought it so I have to deal with it!
