I have a MBP 13 inch here bought in May 2013 which is having SATA Cable problems. Scanning the web I see a large amount people faced with the same issue. The laptop is out of warranty, I understand but should I have expected that this part of the laptop would break within a bit more than 2 years of usage?
A call with Apple support did not provide any positive feedback.

If there are a lot of people facing the same issue there might be a possibility to have a replacement program started by Apple?

It's a cheap part and an easy repair. It would be nice of Apple to have a replacement program, but since we're not talking about a $500-700 repair like the repair extension for video issues or the repair extension for antiglare coating on the retina displays, does it really matter?

You are right, for us people that know how to deal with failing hardware this is not a costly issue to resolve ourselves. But I can imagine that for people that cannot hold a screwdriver a program would be very helpful. Thanks for your response anyway.
