Hello all,

i have a mbp13 inch late 2018 model with i5 cpu 256gb ssd

i am making an iOS app right now and im running xcode a lot, sometimes the mbp is a bit laggy.
Is it worth it to get the new mac mini with i5 cpu? Will i see any difference in performance?

Just based on those specs you provided, it's hard to say. I would imagine that if you're doing a similarly specced processor, you won't see a huge difference. How much RAM do you have on your current laptop?

8GB of Ram

If you really want to make sure you don't run into issues, then I would get something that's got a bit more to it (faster processor, more RAM). If you try and just match specs but in a different form factor, you will see very little in a difference.

The major benefit of having a Mac mini is the upgradable RAM, I have 32GB in my machine.

BUT if you can I would wait a few more months for the ARM Mac, I'm willing to bet Apple Silicone will be a speed devil with Xcode.
