Do you think spending 1800$ (taxes included) on a refurbished MacBook Pro 13" Touch bar 2016, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD is a good deal? It's not a apple refurbished product, but the only thing that is damaged is the box, the device is brand new. Thanks for your advice :)

Do you need 512gb SSD? I'm not a fan of that size unless you're a professional.

I am a student and have to use auto CAD on windows boot camp and I want to install a few games.

Apart from that do you think it's a good deal for that config? (regardless of whether I need the specs or not :p)

Don't know exactly, but just wanna have the extra space to mabye store some photos as well.

Well, in any case I don't think it's a good deal, because things like photos can be stored on iCloud, and if you're playing any games from something like Steam you can download/remove at will to free up space if that's necessary. But if the 13inch doesn't have a discrete GPU you're not going to play much in the way of games.

It's not so much about if the price is worth it, it's if the laptop fits your use cases. IMO rarely does a 512 SSD fit any use cases, and if you're playing games you want a discrete GPU.

13" 2016 Touch Bar + 16GB + 512 GB SSD is going for $1780 US at Apple Refurb. But you're getting it with tax included, and external box damage is the best type of refurb to get :) So yes, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Maxing out the SSD will give you a few more years of headroom without feeling like you've got to upgrade.

I just got a 512 GB, 15" 2016 MBP w/ dedicated graphics off Swappa for $1900. I think you can find a 13" for a lower price than that.

It is the 2.7 GHz with the Radeon Pro 455 GPU. If you're in the market for a 15" tbMPB, you'll likely start seeing more of these in the $1900-$2000 range on Swappa and Craigslist soon I imagine.

Just picked up the same model for $1800 on Swappa. The price is great, but I wish it had the more powerful Radeon 460.
