Hey all,

I've had my MBP for a few months, and I've notice that the screen seems to fall backwards when it goes past a 120 or so angle. It doesn't fall flat, just falls back to about 145 degrees.

I recorded a YT video of it happening:

Is this normal? If not, what should I do D:?

Thanks,

No, looks like the hinges are broken. As it is a unibody the whole screen would need to be replaced.

Has the screen been tilted to far back at some point? If so it's doubtful Apple would cover it under warranty.

MBP is definitely a unibody. Provided there's no physical damage or water damage to the machine, Apple will replace the faulty hinge if you take it into an Apple Authorized Service Center or an Apple Store. Typical turnaround time for this can be about 3-5 days.
