I'm trying to decide between a 14 and a 16 M1 Pro MBP. I currently have a Mid 2012 15 (non-retina).

I naturally gravitated towards the 16 since my current MBP is a 15. My highest priority is not being in this same position as I am now where this 15's resolution makes it so that I go back and forth between screens so much. I want to see more in one view.

But I also use it mostly in my lap and I do travel locally with my laptop as well. So portability would be nice. And so now I'm considering the 14. But will the 14 put me back in the same position as the 15 in terms of screen real-estate and view?

The 2012 has a screen resolution of 1440 x 900.

My main question is: Does the 14" with a resolution of 3024 x 1964 give a much better experience of view than the 2012?
