OK, so I've decided on the 15". I was going to get the 2.66 with the better graphics card for $1984 with student discount, the only upgrade being a 500gb 7200rpm hard drive.

Then I started thinking, I can get a 500gb 7200rpm hard drive for about $120 to $130.

Could I get the NVIDIA 9600 graphics card to put in too? I wasn't sure.

I know installing the hard drive is very easy but I don't know about installing the graphics card (or if I can even get it, or if it will even work), so I come to all of you for your wisdom.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

No, you can not install a graphics card.

Have you looked at the Apple refurb store, there may be some deals on their that may interest you

Well that stinks. I did look at the refurb store and have given it some thought.

Conclusion: Based on the free ipod touch deal (I'm going to give it to my kid for his b-day next week) The 2009 MBP net price is about $199 more than the refurb and buying the ipod touch seperate.

I thing new is the better value at this point with the better battery, screen, sd slot (for my purposes) and a little better chip (2.66).

Thanks.
