Hello all,

I've got a 15 inch, 2010 i5 MacBook Pro sitting on my desk that was running fine until about 10 minutes ago. I had just finished cloning the drive to an external Solid State to replace the hard drive. Then, after installing the new SSD, I close the computer up to find that it won't turn on. When I press the power button, the sleep indicator light turns on for a few seconds, then the machine just powers off. It's almost like it's shorting out.

I've reset everything, reseated everything. Any idea?

Thanks.

Make sure all the connections are tight, like the ssd. Hold alt at startup and see if you can get a boot screen.

I'd also double check you didn't knock any cables free or damage any of the other components.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't BELIEVE I damaged anything, and it appears as though all the connections are good. I can't even get the display to light up, let alone a boot screen. The sleep light, fans, and (if I reinsert the original, spinning drive) hard drive spin up, then it just... cuts out.
