MBP 15" 2010 versus MBP 13" 2011

Hey all,

My school is having a sale,
the 2010 15" MBP will be 1,000 + tax (2.4 ghz)
the 2011 13" MBP will be 1,050 + tax (2.3 ghz)
additionally, the 2010 13" will be 800 + tax (2.4 ghz)

I will not be gaming much with this laptop. It will be used primarily for DJing, school, music production, and general enjoyment. All of these are affordable but obviously I'd like to spend as little as possible. I've done a fair amount of research and I honestly cannot decide between the three.

for what youre doing i say get an 13 MBA ultimate, but if you're stuck on these two options then its really up to screen size, im in school and do not find the 15 at all cumbersome to carry around day to day. but since you're comparing the 2010 15 and the 2011 13 id say got with the 2011 that thunderbolt port is going to be worth it to you since you're into DJ'ing and probably have a lot of music. the new Thunderbolt devices are going to scream. cant wait to get my hands on one

I can't see that you'll notice a huge difference between to 2011 2.3GHz and 2010 2.4GHz. But as it's only 50 extra for the latest model over the previous incarnation, I'd go for the 2011 13" 2.3GHz.

A few things to think about:

You could get 3 years apple care on the 2011 model;
You would have more recent tech in the 2011 model (i5 and thunderbolt);
On the downside you would have integrated graphics.
