Hey folks!

So I am running an rMBP (mid 2015) - 2,8 Ghz i7, R9 M370X, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD

I simply love that machine. The build quality, the screen, the performance ... basically anything.
Still after some years I am thinking of maybe upgrading to an 2018 device?

I love hardware .. thats why I am thinking of switching. Performance wise I am absolutely satisfied with my MBP... although the itching is getting stronger and stronger.
The selling price mid 2015 MBPs are getting is still quite good (surprisingly good). Thats another thing I keep in mind "better sell now and still get some good $$ back, than selling it 2 years later getting only a fraction out of it".

Can anyone cure me?

I know I am missing the USB/Card reader/HDMI slots (also have some spare power supplies for my 2015 MBP).
Are there 2015 switcher around? Was it worth it?

I own the 2018 15" as well as the same config 2.8 Ghz 15" 2015 you have. They are both great laptops. I don't miss my newer one whenever I'm working on the 2015. Could be because of all the issues I had to endure with the 2016/2017 models. I think it depends mostly on your use case.

In my case I only see the benefit when I'm doing paid work for a client, It can reduce time on video rendering, editing on premiere pro, adobe after effects, etc.

For most tasks, your 2015 will suffice. I do get your feeling; I had the same thing.. eventually kept the 2015 15" ;)

Couldn't sell it. It's just so reliable!

If you are on a 2015, I would strongly suggest not upgrading yet - I would definitely wait for 2019/2020, all that will happen is if you buy this years model, you'll likely have a bigger itch to upgrade to the next gen MacBooks (which are hopefully going to the 10nm CPU's - and potentially other great upgrades such as screen resolution, better FaceTime Camera/FaceID, improved keyboard and touchbar, better cooling and higher battery life).

I felt the same with with my 2012, and so my suggestion is to keep it. The 2018 has some things going for it, and I like mine, but if you love your machine now and its doing everything you want it too, then don't change. I suspect you'll be disappointed.
