I just picked up the hi res anti glare 15 in MBP from Microcenter for $1600, or $850 off the original retail price. My new MBP came new in box. The last time I looked, Apple was selling a refurb anti glare 15 in MBP on their web site for $1800.

So the answer to your question depends on how pricing works in the UK, but it wouldn't be a terribly good deal in the US right now. The current bid is £1000 gbp which is $1618 US at the current exchange rate. At £1500, the buy it now price actually only $25 less than the original retail price of $2425.
