MBP 15 (high-end) Hi-res from store..possible?

See the high-end MBP 15? I'm thinking of getting that...:D

15-inch: 2.2 GHz
2.2GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
750GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5
Built-in battery (7 hours)

However, I also wanted to get the Hi-res display (not anti-glare) 1680x1050. I didn't want any other custom options. :eek:

Can this configuration (w/hi-res) be bought directly from the apple store? :confused:
 
The only BTO MBPs that I've seen Apple Stores carry are the top spec models. I actually bought mine like that - 15" 2.3GHz with Hi-Res AG screen.
 
I bought a similar make from my Apple store, however it has the higher processor

2.3 GHz quad core
HR AG
4GB RAM (had them upgrade to 8GB)
750GB 5400RPM HD

From what I understand this is the only AG configuration available in stores for 15", and even then only certain stores carry this specification. Just call your Apple store to see if they have it
 
Ordering it online is not entirely bad either, it comes with free shipping and you get to track it; it's as exciting as Christmas used to be!
 
Just buy it online. I returned my standard resolution MBP and ordered the high res on Friday, and received it on Tuesday!

did u go for anti glare?

anyways i know my apple store carrys the base models as well as a high end 15inch but it only has the anti glare high res. not the glossy high res.


why dont u like anti glare OP?

Nope. Not a fan of the anti-glare. I got the glossy High res.

They don't carry the high res glossy in the store...only the anti-glare with the 2.3 ghz i7 (which I don't care for).

Most of it has to do with how I don't like the looks of it. :eek:
There's also the additional price boost that doesn't help
 
I called a lot of place but they dont seem to cary the high-res standalone without the antiglare. Since i got an external 27' screen, i opted for the normal rez :rolleyes:

the only reason i got anti glare is because everyone eles in my school has all glossy. i jsut wanted to be different solely on astectics LOL
 
Some stores do carry high-end models of each line in stock, but they do not advertise it so you would have to bring it up with a manager.
