MBP 15' touch pad not responsive after new MacOS

Folks, I have this strange issue since the most recent MacOS upgrade yesterday.
When I close the lid without shutting down the computer and then open it, touch pad becomes not responsive. When I restart, it works all over again. Anyone with the same issue?
