I'm making the jump from the 560x from my 2018 model and wanting to grab a used MBP 15 with the Vega, but unsure which one to grab (I do photo work and some video rendering, and light gaming via Bootcamp). I've read some benchmarks that put the Vega 20 30% over the 16 and some reviews suggesting the i9 isn't money well-spent because of thermals. Any helps would be appreciated! Thanks

Just buy a 2019 16"...

I could get a 2018 with AppleCare, 32GB of RAM, and a Vega 20 for like $2200. What would the 16” get me for, what, close to $4000? It’s also a “new” product line, and I don’t like to the be the early adopter...unless it’s that much better. Thx

It is way better. The 2018 has a bad keyboard and is thermally constrained. Base graphics in the 16 are better than the Vega 20. 32GB and AppleCare will be a little more but in a year or so you're 16" will be worth more.

Really? Fudge.

So if I had to go 2018, you’d recommend the Vega 16 and i7?
