Hi,

I want to erase and reinstall my old macbook pro currently running 10.5.8.

I have the original box, start up disks I guess from 2005?

The disk drive is broken - it keeps on trying to read and then spitting out disks.

I wouldnt mind trying to sell it for a few quid if i can get it cleaned. Is there anyway to do this as all the advice is to reboot from original disks which i have but the drive is gone.

Should i just take it outside with a hammer?

many thanks,

If you do take it out back and end it's life make sure to record it on video!

is it possible to use a usb external disk drive? How would I get it to fire up on startup?

many thanks,
