MBP 16 freezes in game under load.

Greetings, wondering if you may help me to identify what the problem might be.

New mbp16 freezes permanently under a heavy load. The mouse still moves and the music is playing but nothing else works. Need to shut it down by holding power button. Happens randomly once every few hours of gameplay.

I did stress test in benchmarking software and it seems like it survives so wondering if it's the game that is unoptimised or does it look like my mac has a problem. Any thoughts?

What game? Could be a matter of that particular game crossing something up rather than the level of stress, as you say.

Mine was doing the same with Sid Meyer’s Railroads. When I called Apple Support I was told that my graphics card could not handle the game. Really!? I have no problem playing it on a Mac mini and a 13” MBP but a 16” MBP with a 5500M card cannot handle it?
