MBP 17" 2.3 black screen at boot

I have a MBP 17" 2.3 and just recently upgraded to 10.5.0 and then immediately to 10.5.2. I also upgraded the graphics update.
My issue is my display will stay black after I boot my computer. This happens intermittently and as soon as I push "F2" to increase screen brightness, the screen brightens up and is back to normal. I did not have this issue with 10.4.11. What are my options?

Readjust the brightness slider under displays in preferences. It probably reset itself when you updated.
