Hi.

In the market to upgrade to the 17" from a late '08 15" and I'm wondering...

Did anything actually change from the January 09 17" to the current ones?

I only ask because a refurb early 09 17" 2.93 Anti-glare is looking awfully nice on Apple.com. If nothing actually changed, why step down to a "new" 2.8 for more money?

Any thoughts anyone?

I don't think anything really happened except for speed boosts, and more BTO options.

Screen maybe?

Do we think anything happened to the screen?

I know there's been lots said about the screen upgrades for the 13 and 15, but I'm wondering if the 17 had the "really good screen" from the get go in January.

Hmm...

I think the June 09 17in MBP also got the 60% more color gamut screen.

Any way to confirm the screen thing?

Interesting thought about the "60% better gamut screen"..

Anyone know how to actually confirm that?

I've been combing over forums and reviews and Apple.com and I can't find any data of consequence that would let one decipher if anything's changed...

I'm pretty sure the 17" has the 60% better Color Gamut display but don't take my word for it. Anyway I would get the Early 09 refurb not much different and cheaper and faster (but you won't notice)
