As some here know I just got an late 2011 MBP 17" with the SD card reader. How can I boot the ML installation from that pci xprees card reader ?

This was discussed in a thread a while back, while possible, it's very slow and I would not recommend it.

It's pretty poor.

Is it just from that xpress card ? I only been booting my installation disc from the sd card when I had imac and it was flying. Just cant seem to be able to start the installation from that sd card this time...

You should be able to boot from a Firewire or USB connected drive or SD card. Maybe your SD card needs to be reformatted and the OS reinstalled. It's usually slow because SD cards are slow. SSD's they are not.

First of all, why do you even want to do this?

I have an old 250 drive that i cannot format and my ML installation is on sd card. But all sorted with online recovery and installed now and is all nice and working, again on wednesday my ssd is going to arrive.
