Hello good people,

Quick question - is it possible to use my MBPs screen as a display for my PC ? So that I don't have to buy a separate monitor for it ?

Thanks

I'm unaware of a simple solution.

You could use a video capture device, either over USB 3.0 expresscard or Thunderbolt.

Outside of that, I'm not aware of any native 'video in' ports on my Late 2011 17" MBP.

What I mean is to plug my PC to my MBP and use it's screen as my PCs moniotr.

No, there's no way to do that.

Yes, that would be a 'video input' on your laptop.

Except that the Mac (and nearly every other notebook on the market) doesn't have such capability built in. It requires some sort of external device, which for a good one, can cost more than simply buying a separate monitor.

There is always a way - this isn't the place to find that answer, post a local "meet up" in your local areas and see who the tech nerds are, there is always a club for tweaking mother boards to do exactly and anything you dream to do, like what you are suggesting. Which is a really peculiar thing indeed.
