I produce music and want to have the fastest most powerful laptop possible for my needs. Is there much difference in performance between the 17in SSD 500GB, 8G RAM, 2.3 Ghz processor. Than the 15in standard hard drive 750GB, 2.2, 8G RAM? Obviously the 15in is less expensive but I am talking about speed and performance. What would be the fastest beefiest MBP on the market? Thanks.

You can get the same processor and SSD for the 15" also. I'd first decide what screen size fits you best and then the options from there. The 15" and 17" are basically equivalent if given the same options.

Fastest = SSD, no brainer. Processor matters relatively. Performance will be stunning with SSD.
