Recently put Windows 10 on my new MBP ('18, 15-inch) via BootCamp (originally tried to make an EFI boot on an external SSD, but I was having too many issues and gave up). I had experienced the thermal throttling issue in MacOS, but it was resolved with the update. However, in Windows, under load, I seem to have the same issue:

Under load, more RAM is used and the GPU is used, but the CPU starts out around 50% and then drops to 4-8%, at only 0.8GHz with these little spikes. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and is there any chance of it getting patched? Of course Apple doesn't service Windows, but to my understanding it's less of a Windows issue and more of the processor's voltage controller.

Many people believe the current patch for MacOS is a hotfix only. It's not a permanent solution in the firmware.

Maybe later this year, we'll get a proper solution.

Bootcamp drivers are also forcing the Radeon GPU constantly, increasing heat and reducing thermal headroom.

When checking with Intel XTU on Bootcamp, the thermal limit was 120W for my processor, and I have the base 2.2GHz model. You can help the issue by forcing a hard thermal limit and thermal throttling should be eased.

Thanks! I'll download XTU and give it a try. Task Manager doesn't indicate the GPU is running ALL the time for me, but any visual task bumps it up to 90-100%. And to my understanding Bootcamp drivers only allow you to use the discrete graphics, rather than use the integrated graphics for light tasks and only use the GPU for demanding ones, so it probably is bumping up the temp.
