I know the speed difference is marginal, but does anyone have any real world data or time comparisons? For boot up and how the world real world multi-tasking difference is? ie, how it feels. I know 2gb is overall kill for regular applications, but I hate memory leaks and overall system lag whenever a big apps close. Thanks :)

I can't speak for the Intel Macs specifically, but I can tell you that with OS X, moving from 1GB to 2Gb of memory will show much more than a marginal performance improvement.

Pro apps easily take advantage, but I have been surprised how much even browsing with Safari (esp. with tabs open) and other daily tasks improve, even going above the 1GB mark. You can leave basically all your programs open and take hardly any performance hit.
